-Item 2 SPO commented people still don’t know about conference and it’s time for a paid advertizement campaign. General concensus that we need one. BP said campaign should cost no more than $500.
ARP, AmodP and SPO to discuss and submitt campaign proposal.
BKS said: present budget in the bank is $4,911
-Mahabir Pun’s ticket will cost $200.00
-Expected overall cost is $9,337
-We must still encourage members and corporations to donate.
Further discussion on advertizing
ARP suggested google advertizing
BP commented it may make sense for businesses but not for our conference, BKS concurred
AmodP will contact Sapna Sakhya for journalism help
ARP will send a list of Nepali organizations to BKS
BKS will send an advertizing letter to as large a distribution list as we can get
BP said Ambika Adhikary wants a letter from us for his own distribution list.
BKS said that the size of the Nepali delegation is smaller than expected. It would be nice to involve UN Ambassador or Dr. Chalise. All concurred. Roughly $500 may be made available to deal with the expenses incurred. All agreed.
BKS suggested that free registration be provided to qualified individuals. These would be 100 free tickets. All agreed this would be okay.
There needs to be more volunteers and volunteer coordination. We will have an informal meeting on Saturday July 5th and possibly another phone meeting on sunday July 6th.
